Mid-Michigan Leadership Academy is currently hiring for Teachers for the upper and lower grades for the 2025–2026 school year. Must have teacher certification and endorsement.
We are looking for Teachers who are motivated, creative, flexible, and possess strong organizational and student management skills as well as determination to foster academic achievement for all students in an urban setting.
Mid-Michigan Leadership Academy (MMLA), chartered by CMU and managed by CS Partners, is a K-8 Title I public school academy serving a dynamic and diverse student body in Lansing, Michigan. MMLA’s goal is to provide an environment where all students can achieve success to reach their fullest potential. MMLA affords families in the greater Lansing area a tuition-free alternative education option to their local district.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provide students with effective instruction in the various academic areas and differentiation of instruction to meet the needs of all students.
Teach the required curriculum, administer common assessments, and effectively maintain and monitor on-going student progress.
Deliver targeted instruction, model appropriate behaviors, and implement evidence-based interventions to support student growth in areas such as self-regulation, conflict resolution, following directions, and maintaining classroom expectations.
Deliver the academy’s adopted curriculum and incorporate research-based supplemental educational activities that address the diverse needs of all students in the classroom, including those with special needs.
Utilize the academy’s classroom management and PBIS practices to create a classroom community that is conducive to learning, curtails disruptive behaviors and enhances students’ self-esteem.
Collaborate with special education staff to provide students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), appropriate accommodations, and supplementary aids.
Actively engage in professional development and PLCs by sharing insights, collaborating on data-driven strategies, and applying learned practices to improve student behavior and academic outcomes.
PARENT & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Make and maintain regular, positive contact with parents via phone calls and email including communicating student progress.
Establish and maintain effective written and oral communication and rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
Participate in parent meetings, including IEP meetings and Parent-Teacher Conferences
Contribute to the development of a positive attitude between the school and the wider community through cooperative relations, publications, competitions, etc.
OTHER DUTIES
Display physical, social, mental, and emotional soundness to execute the duties of the job.
Serve as a role model for all students and within school community.
Interact with co-workers, administration, students, parents, and the community in positive, supportive, and cooperative ways.
Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
Contribute to extra-curricular activities and school programs, including recess duty as requested.
Maintain and promote the academy’s goals and objectives.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance to ensure consistent support for students, staff, and school operations.
Maintain a professional appearance; demonstrate effective and timely communication; and maintain accurate, organized, and confidential records
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree
Must have Michigan teacher certification or planning to become certified according to the Michigan Alternative certification path.
